Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is one of the main forms of vitamin D.

Description

1. The amount of vitamin D₃ added in the diet can ensure the basic needs of livestock, but it cannot meet the requirements of optimal growth, bone strength and immune function of livestock.

2. Hypocalcemia during postpartum lactation and excessive use of bone calcium lead to decreased bone quality, decreased immunity, shortened lifespan, and reduced reproductive performance. At the same time, newborn piglets lack vitamin D₃, resulting in calcium and phosphorus absorption and metabolism. Disorder, bone quality decline, affecting normal growth.

3. When vitamin D₃ was added to the basal diet, the conversion efficiency of vitamin D₃ to 25-hydroxy D₃ was reduced due to liver and intestinal damage or developmental effects. Direct supplementation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D₃ not only shortens the metabolic process of vitamin D₃ in the body, reduces the burden on the liver, but also avoids the impact of intestinal damage, liver and kidney dysfunction on absorption and utilization.
